Day 1 October 16, 2024

Day 1 – October 16, 2024. Quebec City.

We flew in this morning from Fort Myers, with a quick layover in Newark. Taxi to Quebec City Marriott downtown. Our room was ready early and upgraded to a city view. We love Marriott properties. We were within walking distance of Old Town through St John’s gate. After a short rest, we headed out in search of restaurant suggested by our flight attendant. Google map on the phone and we were off. I love this city, the stores, the restaurants, the bars and the ambience. After a little confusion, mostly due to road construction, we found Q-de-Sac. True to her word, it was a small pub, crowded for happy hour, and we got the last two seats, which happened to be at the bar. Truly our kind of place. We got a taxi to go back since the return was uphill. Next stop, Chez Murphy’s, definitely a favorite. Then walked back to the Marriott.

Umbrellas outside Q-de-Sac in Lower Town

Great menu selection, great beer selection, as well as great service
Probably the best French Onion Soup I’ve had in a very long time
Onion rings served with honey. Really good
Perfect way to end the evening. Matt the bartender could pour a perfect Guinness
