Halifax, Nova Scotia. A very early morning tour to Peggy’s Cove, an active fishing village on St Margarets Bay and home to Peggy’s Point Lighthouse, established 1868. At one time the population was around 300, mostly of German descent. The original lighthouse was a wooden house with a beacon on the roof. It was replaced in 1914 with the current iconic red and white, octagonal lighthouse which reaches 49 feet in height and is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world.
