Portland, Maine

We started out sailing on the Timberwind. She was beautiful. We enjoyed a 1 1/2-hour sail in Casco Bay and then a bus tour of the area. Portland, the capital of Maine until 1932, was first founded inn 1623 but really never settled until 1632. Massachusetts Bay Colony took over in 1658 and changed the name to Falmouth. It was burned down and affected by many wars and finally in 1786 it was renamed Portland. It is a beautiful city.

Fort Gorgeous. Located in the middle of Casco Bay, never actually used, then turned into a prison. That didn’t work out either. Sitting empty.
