Memories are meant to be shared … or so I believe.
My husband’s granddaughter told me I needed to share my travels by blogging and offered to help me, so here I am. As a teacher, a life-long learner, I am learning a new skill, so come along with me on a new endeavor.
I was about 5 years away from retirement in education, the last twenty of those years, teaching in the hospitality field. Knowing I just wouldn’t be able to sit at home, I needed to start thinking about something to do. It had to be something that I would be as passionate about as teaching, something where I could keep learning myself, something where I could help people. I knew I didn’t want to work a Monday – Friday, 9-5 retirement job and I really wanted to have some fun, have new adventures and live my best life. So, I put all those requirements into a bag, shook them all together …. and what fell out … was a travel agent. I went to a friend who owned an agency, thank you Angel, and that is where it started.
Learning after school, on Saturdays, taking computer classes, clinics, lots and lots of reading and mentors helping me along the way. I’ve now worked for three agencies, currently for Stewart Travel Services, Inc in Naples, Florida. I’ve been an Outside Agent with them since 2011 and I love my job. We are family. And I believe the best way to learn is to experience something, so I am doing my very best to experience as many methods of travel and as many destinations as I can. I want to give my family, friends and clients the best recommendations I can. So, some of my posts may be current trips and many will be past trips.
